Gendersaurus Rex is a research project exploring gender, feminism, sexuality, queerness and difference and how these areas intersect with the field of live performance for children. It’s generously supported by Imaginate and led by Glasgow-based live artist, Ivor MacAskill.
It is informed by academic theory; books and thinkers; practice-based experiments; lived experiences; surveys of current performance practice; and discussions with artists, children, policy makers, educators, audiences and parents in Scotland and beyond.
Here is the address for the blog – click on it, go on : https://gendersaurusrex.wordpress.com/blog/
It’s really the start of a conversation so I’d love to talk to as many people about this as possible so please get in touch. To get in touch you can contact Fiona Ferguson at Imaginate who will pass you onto me – fiona@imaginate.org.uk – or you contact me through twitter below.
I’ll be blogging my thoughts and posting up relevant videos and articles as the project progresses. You can be part of the discourse (in 160 characters or less!) on Twitter, @GendersaurusRex

This sounds brilliant. Have you met Yvon Bonenfant of the University of Winchester? He talks about queering the human voice as part of his children’s installation / sculpture / app project, Your Vivacious Voice: http://yourvivaciousvoice.com/uluzuzulalia/

Hi Ben, yes I met Yvon at that talk he did at RCS last year. Thanks for the reminder – he’s on the list now! Would be great to meet up for a chat with your good self too if you have any time in the next wee while?
